 Aditya Goel Co-Founder of Love in Store & Account Mein

Aditya Goel is the Co-Founder of Love in Store & Account Mein, two of India’s leading B2B services businesses set up in the year 2017. Love in Store now employs close to 5,000 people and has been built into the most formidable FMCG/Consumer services company in the country. Aditya was born on 21st January 1990 in New Delhi. Post working in the FMCG industry for a few years, he started these companies post getting fired from his last job. Apart from building a formidable business, Aditya has been the recipient of several business awards and speaks on forums on Entrepreneurship and FMCG. He is also engaged at leading business schools like his alma mater IIFT, IIM K, IIM S, IMI, SPJIMR for events and classes as a visiting faculty. 

Early life & Education -

Aditya was born in New Delhi to Dr Neeta Goel and Arun Kumar Goel in January 1990. His father had his own entrepreneurial manufacturing venture since 1985 which wrapped up business by 2007. His mother had been a visiting faculty at various Pharmacy colleges across Delhi NCR. Aditya attended the prestigious Delhi Public School R. K. Puram, from 1993 to 2007, post which he attended Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University and completed his B. Tech in Electronics and Communication. During this time, he did various non tech internships only to find his passion in Entrepreneurship. Straight out of engineering he joined Indian Institute of Foreign Trade New Delhi where he completed his two year MBA in International Business. During IIFT he got a chance to work in the FMCG industry as a summer intern and took up a job as a management trainee post MBA. 

Career –

Aditya’s career started as a Management Trainee at the 125 years old conglomerate, the Godrej Group. He was a part of the FMCG company, Godrej Consumer Products Limited which retails some of India’s leading brands like Cinthol, Good knight, HIT, Aer. He was a part of a 10 month long management trainee programme where we spent 2 months in various sales stints across Ludhiana, Dhanbad, Ghaziabad, Chennai, and finally landed up in Lucknow as the Area Sales Manager leading a team of about 75 sales representatives. The One year in Lucknow and the One year across various cities of the country, was the turning point of his life and career. Such close association with retail and trade gave him a lot to learn what REAL BUSINESS and REAL INDIA is. Having grown up in a large metropolis, the understanding and exposure of ground realities was limited, but such a first hand experience left a lasting impression. It was during this phase, the seed of entrepreneurship was sown. Time and again Aditya mentioned to his friends that after coming from such privilege and getting a chance to study at premier institutes, I want to be a job creator. With this dream of of creating a 100 jobs, he started thinking of various ideas. Next came a golden opportunity, the chance to move back home, and take up a sales manager position at Reckitt Benckiser, one of the world’s biggest FMCG companies. Aditya moved back home after 2 years, and gave up on his thoughts of starting up. It just made sense to work for few more years and build up a corpus and then look at doing this. 

But 1.5 years since this, 8th December 2016, his life changed. He was fired from his job. And with this firing, came the opportunity again, start up or get another job. Aditya took up a  co working space in Delhi (one seat for himself), put together a PPT of “Whats in Store” (the erstwhile name for Love in Store) and starting meeting people and showcasing his idea. One of his ex colleagues introduced him to Nishit Sood, and over a month they worked out how to work together. Nishit was running a successful manpower services business then, which then went on to incubate and set up Love in Store. April 2017 was the beginning of the First financial year of Love in Store. The 100 jobs dream was achieved in 2 years, and now LIS and AM are at 5000. Love in Store has plans to go global soon.

Personal life –

Aditya has lived in Delhi all his life. Though Love in Store started and set up in Gurgaon, he has spent his lifetime in Delhi. Aditya is married, and enjoys spending time with his partner travelling across India and the world.
